Thirsting for God ~

"As the deer pants for the water brooks,
so pants my soul for You, O God.
My soul thirsts for God,
for the living God."

~ Psalm 42:1 &2a ~

"O God, thou art my God; early will I seek Thee:
my soul thirsteth for Thee, my flesh longeth for Thee
in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is."

  Psalm 63:1

Water is the rich symbol of salvation, especially to people who
lived in the dry land of Palestine.
"Whosoever drinks of this water will thirst again,
[ reference to the Samaritan woman at the well ]
but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him
will never thirst.
But the water that I shall give him will become in him
a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life."
~ John 4:14 ~

"In the last day, that great day of the feast,
Jesus stood and cried, saying
If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
He that believeth on me, as the Scripture hath said,
out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water."
~ John 7:37-38 ~
Amen and Amen!

Joy!

Debbie wonderful photos of the deer. We sing a lovely song "As the Deer Panteth for the Water". It is one of my favorites. Hope your November day is off to a lovely start. Hugs!

"Lord, give me this water so that I will never thirst again..." I love the story of the woman at the well. One of my favorites, and I love the song, "Fill My Cup. Lord". We sang it as our theme song the summer I was a counselor at a youth camp, and it has always been very special to me. I love your deer photos. I am missing my deer since we moved away from the forest. We take walks in a woodsy area now and see lots of deer tracks, but haven't been there at the right time to see the deer yet. We may have to leave home a little earlier to catch them some morning. Love that verse and little song... Thank you for sharing and blessing us today.

What beautiful verses you've shared, dear Debbie, on water as the symbol of salvation. Your photos of the deer are wonderful, too.

I am not a deer fan - because they eat my garden to bits - but I loved the Scripture.

Hope you and Stephanie are well. Give her my love, and yourself too.

Big hugs. ♥

I love to sing an old Marj Snyder song, "and Jesus said come to the water, stand by my side, I know you are thirsty, you won't be denied. I felt every tear drop when in darkness you cried and I strove to remind you that for those tears I died."
You reminded me!
God bless you, friend.

We live today for that everlasting life that he speaks of, what a wonderful reassurance for us, every day when I go to his word makes me so thankful that he gave us the bible to connect with him before my prayer time!

What is it about a deer? Whenever I see one, it's almost like seeing one for the very first time....God's glorious creations, indeed! Hugs to you, dear Debbie!

Lovely deer images! Sometimes at work, I see deer around the parking lot (which backs into greenspace). Years ago, a deer came up all the way to our building!
