About Me

Hello!
This is me with my handsome husband ~ welcome!
Our homes and lives can reflect the beauty of God,
when we are willing to be gracious.
I'm a daughter, sister, aunt, mother and grandmother
who is looking forward to turning 60 this year (2019)
I love the role of each and every one of these positions
God has allowed me to serve Him in.
I enjoy caring for my home and the many blessings that come with it.
The kitchen is my favorite room in our home where I enjoy cooking, baking
and showing hospitality, if I'm not there
you may find me out doors where there is much to keep me busy,
as I am surrounded by the beauty of God's creation.

My husband and I live in, as I call it, 'A cabin in the woods' nestled by the creek.
We home schooled our two beautiful daughters in this quaint cabin,
so I was blessed to be a keeper of our home.
Our two daughters are both grown with families and homes of their own now,
so I keep myself busy in other ways,
especially looking to the needs of my dear husband
as we have entered into a new chapter of our lives
living alone with our dear pets ~ a dog, cat and a rabbit who is house trained.

Seniors are my joy! I find myself sitting at their feet
gleaning much wisdom from our visits together.
There is much one can learn from the older generation
if we would just give them our time.
I have a passion for the needs of others who may be hurting
both physically and spiritually.
Jesus had compassion on the multitude
and my hearts desire is to be like Christ.

35 years ago (1984) I gave my life to Christ,
and purposed in my heart to follow after Him all the days of my life.
My life verse has been Mark 12:30,
"And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul,
and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment."
I believe that is my whole being.

I love this quote from Betty Scott Stam, who was a missionary ~
"Lord, I give up all my plans and purposes, all my own desires and hopes,
and except Thy will for my life.
I give myself, my life, my all utterly to Thee to be Thine forever.
Fill me and seal me with Thy Holy Spirit.
Use me as Thou wilt, send me where Thou wilt,
work out Thy whole will in my life at any cost, now and forever."
This was her prayer,
and I have made it mine over the many years that I have walked with my Jesus.
God wants all of me, and my heart's desire is to bring Him glory, day by day!

 Welcome!
May I share some sweet hospitality with you ~

I'll put the kettle on and we shall sit around a cup of (your choice) tea, coffee
or maybe some fresh squeezed juice and share in sweet fellowship.
I enjoy sharing the Word of God with dear friends,
so when you visit here in my little corner of the world,
please feel as if we are sitting around the table,
or even by the fireside should it be cooler days,
and allow the words that God guides me to share
with you to touch your heart in a beautiful way.
May your heart be blessed through the sweet fellowship that comes with a visit,
and may you leave having been refreshed in the Word of God.

Be Lovely!
Debbie

Your home looks lovely. It's a pleasure to *meet* you, Debbie. How wonderful that the Lord saved you and that you were able to home school your daughters. Stephanie and I visit each other's blogs...that's how I came to visit with you here. May the Lord use you for His glory as you seek to serve Him through this means. The Lord is eternally Good! Many Blessings, Camille

Discovered this blog today, and it is very sweet. I like your thoughts, and words. The music is peaceful too. Take care, from a sister who is now age 60... a senior.
