It's Good to be Back~

Hello to you, my dear friends!
My husband and I have returned home from our travels
and while we were away we found life quite relaxing
without the Internet and cell phone.
Yes, we turned off our cell phones while we were away, it was GLORIOUS!
You were missed, and I trust that while I was away you have enjoyed your spring
and now summer as we look ahead to the beauty it affords us?
While we were away, we enjoyed God's glorious sunsets
from the shores of Lake Huron as we spent precious time
with my husband's father in Canada.

The day after we arrived my father-in-law became ill.
We headed to the World Crokinole Championships
~one of the reasons why we were in Canada~
only to find ourselves driving back to the town my father-in-law lives in
to get medical help for him.
Without going into the details, tests show that cancer was found in his colon.
May I ask for your prayers on his behalf please?
"Be careful for nothing , but in every thing by prayer
and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests
be made known unto God"
(Philippians 4:6)
The first few days of our visit my father-in-law was in the hospital,
and our best laid plans for our vacation turned upside down.
I believe we are to be wise in the planning of our days,
but we must remember that our days belong to God.
I was reminded of Proverbs 27:1
"Boast not thyself of tomorrow;
for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth"
Isn't that so true?
Even though our plans changed
my husband and I were thankful that we were in Canada
during the time that we were and could be with my father-in-law
during those days when we could be of help to him.
We only wished we could have stayed longer.

♡♡♡♡

This vacation was planned around enjoying the motor home
that my parents gifted my husband and me with.
This is the motor home that I have been driving (Miss Daisy) my mother in
over the past two years to and from Arizona
since dad passed away.

Mom has settled into a lovely home and will no longer
stay the winters in her motor home.
I can't blame her at all for wanting something permanent.
After dad passed away mom said to me,
"What am I supposed to do with my life now?"
Mom and dad had just gone through an estate sale and the selling of their home.
I told her to continue doing just as she and dad had been doing
until God showed her differently.
God is showing her a new path and looking after her each step of the way.
I'm so thankful God looks after His own and cares about every detail of our lives.
My husband and I are beyond grateful for the gift of this beautiful
and well kept motor home and we are looking forward to many travels
in future days as the Lord directs.
Our desire is to use this motor home for God's glory.

♡♡♡♡

While we were in Canada, daily I would find time alone and
walk with the Lord in quietness. The boardwalk is one of my favorite
walking grounds as the sun is rising or setting.

I had hoped that my time away would be a time of deep reflection between God and I,
but my time was used differently not allowing for much of that.
No matter what God brings into our daily lives we can always find the time
to be alone with Him, even if it's not as we planed out.
Again, we can plan our days as we so wish,
but it is God who owns our days and He makes all things work
together for good no matter what may come our way.
"And we know that all things work together for good
to them that love God, to them who are the called
according to His purpose"
(Romans 8:28)

♡♡♡♡

It's good to be back, but I will be in and out for the next couple of weeks
visiting with you as we have our oldest three grandsons
coming for a week and then some dear friends will
be visiting the next week.
All winter long we await the nice weather and then when it arrives
life becomes quite full with family, friends and beautiful sunshine.
Enjoy the days which God so graciously gifts you with
and sing praises unto His Holy Name.
God's blessings be upon you, dear friends. ♡

Be Joyful!

Back from Vacation

The beauty of having time away from our every day lives
while surrounded by the glory of God
allows us to relax, reflect and rejuvenate.
Hello dear friends!
How good it is to be back
in our little community of Blogging.
I look forward to catching up with you
and enjoying the beauty in which you share with us.
As I was away on vacation I made sure that
the internet and my phone were turned off
and it made for a very relaxing time.
To start off our time in Canada my husband and his dad competed in the
World Crokinole Championships.
Though they did not take home the trophy,
they both had a great time and walked away
with a few extra winnings in the form of cash.

I had the joy of putting quite a few miles on my $20.00 bike.
Isn't she a beauty? :)
I purchased her in Arizona from a lady in the RV Park where my mother stays.
She's a cruiser with no gears, so a good work-out.
Not sure how I will do here in the mountains with no gears. Ha!
I have always enjoyed walking the Rail Trail,
Boardwalk, and the beautiful bike path on the Lake Shore road,
but this time I found myself  riding more than walking.
There is never a shortage of benches near Lake Huron.
There I would sit and talk with the Lord.

My husband and I had a delightful time playing
with our remote cars on the beach.
These cars make me laugh!
Because of the faces my husband has put on them
I believe it gives them their personalities.
Notice the red car coming up close to the seagull?
I believe the seagull was enjoying the fun too.

Tobermory up on the Bruce Peninsula has become one of my favorite places to visit.
There we have enjoyed some beautiful hiking adventures.
This time we enjoyed the day hiking at Cyprus Lake.

I know most people would rather you NOT feed the seagulls,
but these guys joined us on the rocks
and made for some great entertainment.

Here is the Georgian Bay in all it's beauty.
I love the green color of the water.
This is called the "Grotto" and the hike has quite the rock.
One year we hiked this area when it was raining
and boy it was dangerous walking on those wet rocks.
Gorgeous isn't it?

Evening shots of the beach as the sun was going down.

Those beautiful nights as we walked hand in hand on the beach
taking in the beauty of the sunsets.

Even the seagull was lit up with the beauty of the sunset.
God's glory~Every bit of it!

"And one cried unto another, and said,
Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord of hosts:
the whole earth is full of his glory."
(Isaiah 6:3)
Amen.

Joy!

Time Off ~

Hello to you, my dear and faithful followers!
I have been MIA these past couple of weeks
while helping with the needs of my mother.
While I was away my post came up in honor of
dad's one year anniversary where he is now in heaven
beholding the glory of God.
It's hard to believe that he has been away from our presence
for a year now. Where does the time go?
I want to thank you for your precious visits and tender comments
that were shared in love, and I apologize for taking so long in replying
back to those of you who left comments.
Those of you who are a "no-reply" thank you for your beautiful comments and visit.
I appreciate your love and grace shown through your friendship.
May God's grace shine upon you.

For the next couple of weeks I will be
enjoying some time off relaxing in the beauty of God's creation
as seen in these images.
"And He walks with me and He talks with me
and He tells me I am His own.
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
none other has ever known."
~ Hymn In The Garden ~
I'm looking forward to some quiet time alone with my Savior,
as we walk and commune together with no distractions.
Therefore, I will be leaving the internet at home where it belongs
and all the electronic devices that are a part of my daily life
will be taking time off as well.
There is sweet, sweet fellowship to be found
as we seek out the Lord in quietness and confidence.
God desires to meet our every need when we call upon His name, and seek His face.
"But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God,
thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart
and with all thy soul."
(Deuteronomy 4:29)

When I return back to our wonderful community of Blogging
I would love to share with you an amazing story of the hand of God.
This little sweetie is our new addition
to our family and home.
My little "Honey Pot"

"My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord;
in the morning will I direct my prayer unto Thee,
and will look up."
(Psalm 5:3)
~*~
Precious Heavenly Father,
cause us to always "look up"
as we daily seek Your face
with praise on our lips.
Amen.

Be Glorious!
~ Debbie ~
