Tea~Roses and Scripture ~

Hello to you my dear and graceful followers!
Once in awhile I enjoy treating myself to a bouquet of beautiful flowers,
and these gorgeous pink laced roses were calling my name,
"pick me ~ pick me" how could I just walk on by?
These roses were in the sale bucket, no less,
and they have given me pure joy and delight for days now.
I spend a lot of my time in the kitchen and I have a special place
where I love to display my flowers so I can view them from any angle.

My daughter, Stephanie, gifted me with this sweet teapot cream & sugar set
a few years ago and I thought it was a perfect set to use as I enjoyed a cup of tea
all alone while I read the Scriptures, and bowed my knee before the throne of God.
Just me ~ myself ~ and I ~ alone with God ~ what sweet fellowship
as I sought out to seek the face of God.
Do you ever have those days when all you desire is time alone with God?
I mean, real quiet you and God time, even if it requires your entire day?
"When thou saidst, Seek ye my face;
my heart said unto thee,
Thy face Lord will I seek."
~ Psalm 27:8 ~

I was enjoying my time as I searched through the Scriptures,
quietly giving God my heart, my all, without any disruptions.
My desire was to be aware of His presence,
for I know that He delights in our worship of Him,
even those alone times of worship.
'O Lord, cleanse the intent of my heart with Your unspeakable gift of grace'
I know God wants me to live my life to His glory,
no matter if I am eating, drinking or spending time alone with Him.
God wants the glory and He should get the glory!
"Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do,
do all to the Glory of God"
~ 1 Corinthians 10:31 ~

"It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord,
and to sing praises unto Thy name, O most High.
To show forth thy lovingkindness in the morning,
and thy faithfulness every night.
~ Psalm 92:1~2 ~
God desires that we would publicly acknowledge His goodness,
His (lovingkindness) to us in the morning,
and His (faithfulness) to us EVERY night.
We certainly have much to be thankful for when we reach the end of our day, don't we?
"Oh that men would praise the Lord for His goodness,
and for His wonderful works to the children of men!"
~ Psalm 107:21

Praising my Jesus!

This is the week for the memorial service of my dear father-in-law
and there will be some travelling involved,
so I will be taking some time away from blogging.
With the Holidays coming upon us soon I'm uncertain of when I will post again.
One day at a time...
God's abundant love and blessings be upon you my friends!

Offering Our Praise with a Thankful Heart ~

" Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me:
and to him that ordereth his conversation aright
will I show the salvation of God."
(Psalm 50:23)

With Thanksgiving in the month of November (at least here in the U.S.)
our hearts are often turned towards giving thanks
for the many blessings that God bestows upon us;
daily we have the opportunity of honoring God with our sacrifice of thanksgiving
and offering up our praise for His glory.
We can purposefully look for reasons to be grateful
no matter what we may be facing in our every day lives.
God's Word tells us in Psalm 50, that when we offer up our praise to Him
 we are glorifying Him.

***

1 Thessalonians 5:16&18 also commands us to
"Rejoice evermore. In everything give thanks:
for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."
So often giving thanks may be the last thing we want to do.
We all face challenges that effect our lives~robbing us of our joy
and taking our focus away from God.
But if we look to the heavenly Father, and ask Him
to give us a thankful heart, He will.
Begin by offering praises to His Holy Name,
ponder on the ways He has helped you in the past
through difficult circumstances.
Rejoice in His character, His love for you, and the salvation
He freely gives.
Write down the blessings you can think of
which are yours in Christ Jesus.
Personalize God's promises found in the Word,
and ask the Spirit of God to show forth His Truth
as you seek to exalt Him throughout your day.

"O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise
to the rock of our salvation."
(Psalm 95:1)
As you sing unto the Lord and consider the many blessings
the Father has given you, you will certainly find
your heart to be full of thanks and praise~not only for what
God HAS done for you, but what He WILL do for you.
Set your heart to worship God, and honor Him
with your sacrifices of praise and thanksgiving.

Dear friends~let there be praise upon our lips as we joyfully go about our every day lives
acknowledging our Holy, Righteous and Great God,
giving thanks in all things with a grateful heart to the glory of God.
Have a glorious day!

Heavenly Father~
With Your grace we offer up to You
our praise and thanksgiving.
Amen.

Be Grateful!

Let Us Declare His Praises

"Make a joyful shout to the Lord all ye lands!
Serve the Lord with gladness;
Come before His presence with singing."
(Psalm 100:2)

Lately I have found myself coming into the presence
of the Lord with singing.
I was not gifted (as some) with the ability to sing,
but within my heart there sings a melody.
I have always loved singing to the Lord
and making a joyful noise ~
But these past few weeks it has been the desire
of my heart to sing unto the Lord rather than speak
the words of my heart during my quiet time of worship.
With this different way of meeting with my Savior,
I have found a greater sense of thankfulness
that is overflowing from within my heart.
There is a nearness to my God that seems to wrap
an awareness of His gentle love around me.
God's presence is real..."I am the sheep of His pasture,
and His love and mercy is everlasting."
That is praiseworthy!

"Be thankful to Him, and bless His name."
(Psalm 100:4)
Oh... that is the sincerest desire of my heart.
A heart of thanksgiving certainly draws one closer to God, doesn't it?
We have so much to be thankful for,
and the Psalms are a beautiful expression
of overflowing thankfulness to God.
This time of year and every day of the year
should bring us to the place of allowing the Spirit
of God to cultivate in us a heart of praise
and thanksgiving for all that He has done.
Psalm 103 is another great Psalm of Praise.
In verses 20-22 even the heavens and the earth
sing His praises because of the good things that he has done.
We should do no less.

**~~**

I would encourage you to;
"Bless the Lord O my soul,
and forget not all His benefits."
(Psalm 103:2)
Our praise journals should be overflowing as we call to mind
the great things He has worked on our behalf.
Praise His Holy Name!

**~~**

Today I am reminded of God's grace, mercy, love
and goodness in all things, yes, in all things.
On November 25th we, as a family would celebrate
my dear and precious dads birthday.
He would have been 79 years old today.
Our Thanksgiving celebrations
were many times centered around his birthday
as it often fell on Thanksgiving day.
This year we as a family will experience our 1st
with out his presence.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!
WE LOVE AND MISS YOU!

Through the tears of heartache as we miss this great man
we can still sing praises from our hearts
with a grateful spirit because of God's goodness.
As I was reading Psalm 103 and giving praise
to my Holy God for His many benefits,
I was struck with a greater sense of gratitude for where
my dad will be spending his birthday this year,
in the presence of God.
O bless His name!

**~~**

You see...God "heals all our diseases." (Verse 3b)
God is the ultimate healer of our illnesses.
While here on this earth dad lived with Polio
from the age of two and a half,
a disease that crippled him and brought decay.
In his later years heart disease over took him,
to the point of ending his life.
In May of this year God called my dad home,
and according to the first part of verse 3 in Psalm 103
it is the foundation for my praise.
"Who forgives all your iniquities."
At the cross our greatest problem was dealt with
by God Himself, our sin problem.
My dad is celebrating his salvation through Christ
in the presence of his Holy and Righteous Savior,
as redeemed and healed both from his earthly diseases
and his spiritual disease.
God was faithful and forgave dads iniquities
when dad called upon the Lord for his salvation.
"For whosoever calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved."
(Romans 10:13)
That is what I celebrate today!

With a heart full of praise (and tears as I miss dad)
I will sing out to the Lord with a heart of gratitude
because I know dad is with his Savior celebrating
with a new and healed body.
That puts joy in my heart,
where in this world we endure much heartache.

"O give thanks to the Lord!
Call upon His name;
Make known His deeds among the peoples!
Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him;
Talk of all His wondrous works!
Glory in His name;
Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord."
(Psalm 105:1-3)
Amen

Let this be our prayer

Be Thankful
