Focused and Optimistic ~

Hello to you my dear friends and faithful followers!
I trust your week is off to a great start,
filled with the joy of the Lord, and goodness straight from His heart
My heart is overflowing with Joy!
Yesterday was my six week post-op check-up on my new knee
and with glee and delight I'm doing a bit of a happy dance. 💃💃💃
I had one terrific uplifting positive visit with my Doctor!
He was quite pleased with my progress, and the x-ray technician
was amazed at how I was walking and getting around.
I told both him and the Doctor that the credit goes to my wonderful therapist,
but they were kind in their replies reminding me that what I do as homework
exercises is what will make or break me.
I have shared with you from surgery up until now,
and if you remember right I had a bit of a scare over the fluid around my knee,
freaked out just a little ((smiles)) and over exercised for fear that the fluid
would turn into scar tissue.
I laugh now.
Seriously though ~ I have heard more people tell me of new knees turning out
not so wonderful and for various reasons, but especially because of the lack of
exercising and not obeying orders from their therapist.
I was concerned that I too would have issues with my bend especially,
but keeping my eyes on Jesus, resting in your faithful prayers, staying focused,
having a positive attitude with my exercises and being optimistic through out my days on this journey as I climb my personal "sand dune"
has brought me to my six week check-up
with good, positive results.
Thank you Jesus!

~ The right knee is the new knee ~ Isn't it beautiful! ~

"I will speak of the glorious honor of thy majesty,
and of thy wondrous works.
~ Psalm 145:5 ~

"Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name forever and ever.
Great is the Lord,  and greatly to be praised;
and his greatness is unsearchable."

For Mother's Day my daughter Stephanie gifted me with the sweetest book on flowers.
The pages of this sweet book communicate to the readers beyond the
limitations of words the Victorian language of flowers selected
to convey a message of celebration and cheer, then, the book is
transformed into a bouquet of lovely flowers.
I took the book with me as reading material yesterday while on our
5 1/2 to 6 hour roundtrip drive to the city for my Doctor appointment.
I've read this book a number of times, but once again I was
inspired by the sunflower "Helianthus" the flower of strength.
A great reminder to turn our head and heart towards the "Son" Jesus Christ,
and stay focused.
"The sunflower turns its head toward the sun throughout the day,
following its path across the sky. It's  hard to imagine this brilliant
and sturdy plant as anything less than a symbol of true optimism.
It encourages us to be hopeful, to keep looking up,
and to stay focused on our goals."

Keep Looking Up!

How nice that it goes well with your knee, especially if you follow all the good advice. There is so much to thank for.
My brother-in-law also got a new knee and cycled a lot, now his knee is very smooth.
Have a blessed week!

Helloooo Debbie! Oh, this is great news! God is good!

Wow, you had quite the drive for your checkup! That's a long drive! It sounds all worthwhile though, and it sounds like you have a very nice doctor. It sounds like you are a very good patient too obeying the therapist. : )

The flower book sounds so nice, our daughters truly know what we like don't they? The flower turns to the sun. We turn to the Son right? He is the giver of Life, Joy, and Peace.

You have a GREAT day! So happy to hear the good news.

Love, Amelia

Such awesome news dear friend about your knee. God has been so good at how He has chose to answer prayers. It warms my heart to read your praise. I bet that book Stephanie gave you is chalked full of wonderful information. Oh yes....the Sunflower! Oh how I do love me some sunflowers. Getting ready to plant some heirloom seeds from my sister in hopes I will have sunflowers ready by Thanksgiving. They are a constant reminder to look up to the SON....
Hugs and blessings, Cindy

Just keep up the PT and all will be fine. I have had both knees replaced and did the PT and it all worked great.

Ain't God good! So glad to hear that you are doing so well. I especially enjoyed the note about the sunflower and your reminder that, like the sunflower, we must always turn our face toward the Son in our daily walk. Hugs.

What wonderful news, dearest Debbie! You have been diligent in your exercises and it's paying off.
What wonderful words you shared of the beauty of the sunflower, and turning our own faces to the SON. Love and hugs to you, and prayers continue for you, too.

What fantastic news dear Debbie! Our God is awesome, He cares, He heals. My sis in law had her knee replacement done Jan. 23rd and is still having problems. She said her dr. said she is a slow healer. For you to be doing so great at 6 weeks is just wonderful.

Love, hugs & prayers for you ~ FlowerLady

So good to hear what a success you are having with the knee, and the PT etc.
Sunflowers always make me think of our time in France, when driving to the South we would see field after field of yellow faces turned to the sun!

YES! YES! Thank you Jesus, and yes you have been diligent in your recovery therapy! God is faithful always!
loved the thoughts on the sunflower, I do enjoy having them in my garden, they are such happy flowers.
Thoughts and prayers continue as you climb your sand dune. I can hardly wait until you reach the top.
Hugs,
Sue

The x-ray photo reminds me just how wonderfully we are made. Look at that! Look how everything is put together and set up to work so well. It is awesome that doctors can make new knees, but they really just copy God's design. :) We are amazing!

Yay!! Good for you - all that hard and painful work is paying off! I remember getting fluid build up for quite awhile (up to a year I think) and my doctor said it was common and just keep doing my therapy. Glad you hear you are doing so well.

Hi Debby. Just sitting here eating jujuy fruit LOL I actually thought they stopped making them but any ways. Yea few years back I fell from my mare, broke knee cap in 3 places, tore lig, crushed nerve all in right leg, The doc said eventually I would need a replacement, but he did not want to do it then, I was in my 30s when it all happened. Now it is getting me trouble so I will probably try to get in to a sports meds doc and see what he says :-)

How is your week going?Hope you have a Blessed weekend :-)
