enjoying God's perfect beauty that surrounded me.
In the distance I could hear the birds singing sweetly over
the sound of the water in the creek nearby.
Just to my right on the hillside beside our home was a young
buck with his fuzzy antlers feasting on the berry bushes
without a care in the world.
As I looked up to the heavens our Rocky Mountain blue skies were magnificent.
As I looked up to the heavens our Rocky Mountain blue skies were magnificent.
I sat there gently swinging with my surgery leg resting
to the side of me while my precious Donatella sat near the swing
enjoying the fresh morning sunshine with a little butterfly resting on her head.
My mind and heart were at peace as I pondered on the goodness of God in my life.

"The work of righteousness will be at peace,
and the effect of righteousness,
quietness and assurance forever.
My people will dwell in a peaceful habitation,
in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places."

As a child of God, He is right now preparing "a place" for us to live forever with Him.
"In my Father's house are many mansions,
if it were not so, I would have told you.
I go and prepare a place for you."
~ John 14:2 ~
Such a promise we are given from Jesus Himself.
As I sat in our back yard looking at my home and the surroundings,
there was a reality that flooded over my soul ~
God wants my home to reflect His heart and grace,
where the presence of Christ is felt, and
a place where His Word is read and honored.
My morning was a quiet place of reflection, and as always,
my God was right there beside of me filling my heart with His joy.
my God was right there beside of me filling my heart with His joy.

My heart is once again singing the praises of our Lord,
as today marks four weeks since my knee surgery.
I know that I am doing as well as I am because of your faithful prayers.
God is certainly hearing and answering YOU!
How I love and appreciate each one of you dear and faithful followers.

This past week I had a bit of a scare with my therapist.
She said my knee was full of fluid and I needed to diligently work to move it,
or otherwise, I would be left with scar tissue.
YIKES!!
My bend wasn't as good as it had been due to all the fluid
and that concerned me greatly.
Every day this past week I faithfully and diligently massaged my knee
with vitamin E oil working the fluid up towards my heart.
On Fridays therapy session I passed with flying colors,
and though there is still some fluid most of it has moved,
and, my bend is up to 115!
Little details of our lives, like a bit of fluid,
is looked after from our loving Heavenly Father.
He is concerned and cares for us with love and compassion.
I'm still not driving, but my dear daughter Stephanie and her little guy
* who by the way is a little gentleman *
have so graciously taken time from their own lives to drive me to therapy.
I'm thinking anytime soon I will be behind that wheel again.
I continue to press forward climbing my "sand dune"
knowing that I still have a long ways to go,
but as I climb one step at a time my eyes are focused on Jesus,
and I know, without a doubt, that He will never leave me or forsake me.

Lovely thoughts in this post and I agree that we are so blessed to have such a loving Heavenly Father that knows us, loves us, and blesses us every single day :)
May your knee continues to heal, and that your therapy continues to go well.
Have a happy day.

I had forgotten all about your knee surgery, please forgive me. They key is to keep moving after any surgery. Its been 9 months since the horrid hysterectomy and the swelling and numbness is starting to subside, tmi, again, excuse me. The dr. keeps saying, "Keep yourself moving!" I sometimes wonder, Debbie, if they have any true idea, grin.
An excellent post, and thank you for the reminder of the good Lord's joy. Keeping you in prayer. smiles
What a beautiful post dear Debbie! Jesus delights in doing us good!

That's what I pray for Plum Cottage.
May you continue to heal dear Debbie. The vitamin E sounds good for massaging your knee. I'm sure you are doing all that you can do with God's natural ways of healing for our bodies.
Thank you for being an inspiration to me.

What a beautiful picture you've painted of your outdoor world, Debbie. I so wish I was sitting there enjoying it with you. I love your description of how our own homes should be a refection of Christ's presence. Yes, they should, and thank you for the reminder! I also appreciate the update on your recovery. I know you are diligently working on doing your very best. What a blessing to have Stephanie and her little fella as your faithful helpers. Love and God bless you, my friend!
So, so thrilled to hear from you and to know that you are progressing well. I'm sure you will make a 100% recovery and will enjoy being free of the pain you have been living with. I have no doubt that Stephanie has been ready to help out in any way she could. Hugs to you! Keep on keeping on!
Great encouraging post,Debbie. God is so good to us, his love surrounds us and keeps us. I have felt those same feelings of His love these last few days and know it's from all the prayers from all the bloggers!
Take care of yourself, praising God and giving him the glory!

I could picture in my mind the scene you described as you sat on your swing. I love moments like these! And what a blessing it is to hear that your knee is healing and therapy is going well...a minor set-back maybe, but it sounds like you have a great therapist who know s just what to do. Thank you for sharing your beautiful heart with us this morning, my friend!
Oh my mercy! This makes me wish I was sitting in that swing with you. So glad you are healing nicely. Praise the Lord for the way He has chosen to answer our prayers for you. He cares about every single detail of our life doesn't He? Happy Monday! Hugs and blessings, Cindy
Just keep doing the pt as that is what helps a lot. I have had 2 knee replacements. Gritting my teeth and keeping up with pt helped me walk again.
Oh Debbie, what a sweet encouraging post! It lifted my soul. Thank you for sharing your heart and praise unto the Lord with us all. Your porch sounds like a wonderful place...I need to visit mine more often. Hugs, have a wonderful afternoon.
I am SO thankful to know you are doing so well, sweet friend! I am continuing to pray for you and believe God that you will soon be back to your normal self~even better than ever! Praise God for all He has done for you! Oh, He is so faithful! Sending love and hugs to you with wishes I could be there to help you in some way. :)
Oh my, four weeks already!!?? So glad you are doing well and enjoying your peaceful quiet times. You will be on the go and driving in no time! So glad you took care of the fluid....no one wants scar tissue. I was told to do that for my carpel tunnel scar but it hurt to rub a fresh scar! But you gotta do what you gotta do. So nice to have an update from you. xoxo
Dear Debbie, Such joy you exude in your love for our Lord and the praise you give Him. So thankful that your knee is moving more and that you were able to get rid of most of the fluid. Your praise delights Him my friend and it blesses those who come here. Praying for continued healing and restoration of your knee.
Blessings dear friend.
Noreen
Good to hear that you are doing so well. Yes,God supplies all our needs, even provides people to give rides when needed.
Your post this morning, Debbie is such a gentle reminder of our Pastor's sermon on Sunday, it was about God never leaving or forsaking us.
I believe God is ever so pleased when we acknowledge His faithfulness. The peace surrounding you is the same peace I felt while in the hospital when there was so much uncertainty as to whether I had had a TIA.
Thoughts and prayers continue for complete healing while resting in this peace.
Your young man, sounds like a true gentleman, I have a few grandsons like that, who are now grown and on their own, but they still call their grandmother.
Blessings to you today, dear friend.
Sue
Hello dear Debbie~

I'm glad to hear you're 'on top of things'; it's important to be diligent to do all you can to insure the best results and recovery~
I was looking at that lovely picture and the scrolling around the perimeter made it look a little like a postage stamp - and I thought
"That would make the most beautiful stamp I've ever seen"! I wish you would submit it :) CO has the prettiest blue skies too~
Blessings, karen o
Dear Debbie I am so glad to read that you are healing from your knee surgery. God is certainly good. In reading your lovely post I was reminded of a scripture verse in Psalm 16:6 "My boundary lines have certainly fallen in pleasant places." I will continue to pray that you will be back driving again soon. Take care dear one. Hugs!
What a beautiful description Debbie! Oh, I felt as if I was sitting right there with you.
I've always tried to keep our home in an atmosphere of praise, and in general a sweet spirit. It really makes a difference doesn't it? : )
Oh Debbie, that must have been a huge scare! I'm so glad you're getting that bend back! Thank God! I'll sure be praying Debbie.
You take care of that knee now as I know you are. Enjoyed your blog!
