God's Loving Hand

This is the beauty of the garden I have the joy of walking through
as I visit the hospital where mom has been for the past 28 days,
such serene beauty that awaits me with every visit.
On July 2nd mom was taken to the nearest Urgent Care
with symptoms of a virus that she caught on her way home from
Arizona while traveling to the Rocky Mountains, where she would spend her summer months,
only to find out that it was a heart attack she was having.
Ladies, if you are not aware of it I would like to inform you that woman experience different symptoms with a heart attack than men do and those symptoms can fool you
into thinking they are cold symptoms.
Every symptom mom was experiencing was related to the virus that was going around,
but by the time the Doctors caught it her heart had been severely damaged.

Over these past 28 days mom has jumped and incredible number of hurdles.
Her heart stopped as she was in the Cath-Lab having the balloon pump inserted
just before she was to be flown "flight for life" two and a half hours from our home town.
There were concerns that she may have brain damage due to the amount of
oxygen she was given and the lack of blood flow her heart was putting out,
there appears to be no damage, praise the Lord!
Her lungs were filling up with fluid due to the leaky valve
that couldn't be repaired until many other hurdles were jumped.
Mom had internal bleeding that needed attention before the Doctors could move forward
that turned out to be an ulcer in her stomach caused by medications.
And of course so many medications that her body had to adjust to
that she must be on for the rest of her life.
Mom will live with heart failure, but praise the Lord, she will be in God's loving care.
Psalm 91 speaks of being in God's care and we can find great comfort in His Word.
"He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High
shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress:
my God; in him will I trust."
~Psalm 91:1&2~

God's loving hand has carried my mom over every hurdle.
Mom has been a trooper!!
My dad would have been so impressed with her and the fight
that she has bravely fought.
Mom has not reached the finish line as of yet, but she is making progress
with baby steps as God in His loving care watches over her
and guides her every baby step of the way.
The Mitral Valve Clip procedure took place this past Tuesday
and as of Saturday afternoon mom was transported to the Rehab center
where she will be looked after as they work to strengthen her frail and weak body.

You my dear friends, have been such an encouragement to me
over these past weeks with your prayers, love, concern, comments and personal e-mails.
Thank you from the very bottom of my blessed heart!
I apologize for not replying to your loving comments,
but please know that you have not been overlooked within my heart and thoughts.
I am truly grateful for each one of you as you faithfully follow along with me.

~~♡♡♡~~

"I have set the Lord always before me:
because he is at my right hand,
I shall not be moved"
~Psalm 16:8~

Glory to God!

It is obvious that God has walked with you through these many trials. What He has promised, He will do. He will not leave your side through all of this. Praying that things will continue to improve and that God will make this trial a blessing not only to you and your mother but to others who see God's love shining through your life. Hugs.

Debbie, So filled with praise that the Dr's found out the real cause for your mom's condition and took the action that was needed to help her continue on in this journey. What a great, Mighty, Loving Father we have, Who knows our every need. I will pray that she will regain strength and energy quickly. I will also pray for His grace to carry you through this time.
Hugs,
Noreen

Continuing to lift you and your mom and family up in prayer as she recuperates in Rehab, and as the Lord mends her body and heart. Love the pictures of the garden...so serene and lovely. What a wonderful way to comfort people while at the hospital. May the Lord continue to renew your strength day by day, as you put your trust in Him and allow Him to care for your mom during these days of her life. He has her safely in His hands...and He will do what is best for her in every day. So thankful we can Trust the One Who died for us! Amen?! God bless you, my friend. Thank you for this update.

I'm sorry about your mom's heart condition. I pray the procedures she receives will bring the recovery she needs to go on and enjoy her life. I pray the Lord will provide an excellent cardiologist who will know just how to treat her going forward. "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6

Debbie, do not apologize for not replying to everyone. You are busy caring for your dear mom and for yourself, and that is enough! God does have her perfectly placed in the palm of his hand, and he knows each day and each step before she takes it. May he provide ample peace and comfort in the days ahead, and may she draw even closer to him.

Oh bless your heart, caring for our parents can be so difficult. I've overseen the care of my Dad for the past 7 years and it has not been an easy journey but the Lord has been with me every step of the way. Thankfully, at 87 years old, he is doing very well right now. I'm so grateful for the good days. May your Mom be headed towards better days.

What a beautiful garden Debbie, to be able to go and enjoy the peace of the Lord while your mother's condition was so critical! I pray that she is recovering well in the rehab and that she soon will be able to go back home to live on her own again... I know that is a big step to take after such a prolonged illness. I enjoyed the verses that you shared, and the beautiful pictures, our God is so faithful to give us just what we need, like this garden being an oasis to your soul in the difficult times of being with your mother and not knowing the future. Will continue to pray and lift you and your family, mother and father-in-law up in prayer!
