My Cup of Blessings ~

"Motherhood is the privilege of molding a life and
shaping a character whose influence will extend into eternity.
It is the opportunity of beginning a life and leading it back to God."
~ Author Unknown

"Her children rise up and call her blessed,
and her husband also, and he praises her."
(Proverbs 31:28)

~~~**~~~
* My daughters and me celebrating Mother's Day over tea and precious fellowship this past week *
 My overflowing cup of blessings are the words which echo from my heart.
Thank you God, for entrusting me with two
beautiful daughters and four handsome grandsons to love and care for
with whom belong to You,  first and foremost.
Years ago when my daughters were very young
I wrote some words at the end of Proverbs 31 in my Bible.
"Mother's must live a godly life so her children will
want the Christ she serves."
As a mother and grandmother,
my mothering efforts and energies have been  focused on
one goal: to raise each child and grandchild to
know, love, serve and honor the Lord all the days of their lives.
The children of our Proverbs 31 woman give her life
its highest reward. They bless her. They praise her.
The children experience the sweet fruits of her virtues,
and she experiences the sweet fruits of their lives
and rejoices in them.
Truly her cup of blessing overflows!
~~~**~~~

My precious daughters are no longer living in our home,
they are both grown women with family's of their own now.
My care has not ceased,  for I now share my mothering efforts
through a long-distance outpouring of love towards them.
We have become friends ~ my heart rejoices
when they rise up and bless me with the love they have for me, as their mother.
Every minute-indeed every second we spend giving the gift
of time and of ourselves to our children
is an investment in their character and in their future.

~~~**~~~
As a Grandmother ~ I also have the privilege to join together with God
and help train up the next generation,
those who will, in turn, train up the generation
that comes after them.
~*~
"Train up a child in the way he should go,
and when he is old he will not depart from it."
(Proverbs 22:6)
We are responsible to hand down the Truth
 from generation to generation.
Another note I made to myself at the end of Proverbs 31 many years ago was;
"The secret of the Proverbs 31 women was that
she feared the Lord.
She loved her God, and therefore,
 she was a blessing to her family.
~*~
"Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that
fears the Lord, she shall be praised."
(Proverbs 31:30)
Oh Precious Heavenly Father,
cause us to glean the Truths found in Proverbs 31,
and trust You in helping us to apply them
to our own lives passing them on to the next generation
so they will grow up knowing You.
Loving You. Serving You and bringing glory to Your Holy Name.
Amen.
Pure delight, dear Debbie, as I read this post! Such a beautiful mother you are with such special daughters, and grandchildren. A lovely way to celebrate Mother's Day, in the tea room! Just loved the picture of the three of you, such joy and beauty radiates from all three of you. Encouraging and blessed words you've written about motherhood - the highest of all callings, to teach our children about Christ, and point them to Him! You certainly have embodied that and more! Certainly you are a blessed mother, and praying the Lord continues to bless your dear heart! Happy Mother's Day to you!
Oh, what a beautiful post filled with wise and uplifting words! And what a beautiful photo of you with your two beautiful girls! This may have been the first time I have seen a picture of Stephanie's gorgeous sister. Motherhood is absolutely a gift from God, no matter how rough the road can get! Today, my dear Aaron was sitting next to me in church...he has finished his program and is HOME! I haven't even had a moment to post about it yet. May you have a beautiful day, my sweet friend!
What a beautiful, perfect post for Mother's Day. I can say that you reached your goal of training up your children in the Lord by example of your lovely daughter Stephanie. I am sure your other daughter is just as lovely in spirit. Sadly, my two daughters are yet to be saved and I pray for the day that the Proverbs 31 verses are true for me. Bless you for your wonderful example!
Dearest Debbie, I love this post and my heart echoes the words you share-except that I have11 grandchildren from our two daughters. It is an honor and joy to have raised them in the nurture and admonition of the Lord and I love that they are both Prov. 31 women. One of the truths I heard when my girls were growing up is that young boys/men should also know Prov.31, so that they can look for a wife with those characteristics. May He be glorified by the lives of our children and grandchildren!
Blessings to you today.
This was such a lovely post, mom. I appreciated the wisdom you shared and loved the words, "Mother's must live a godly life so her children will
want the Christ she serves." So very true! This wisdom can be applied to motherhood as well as being a testimony for the Lord to all those around us.
I had a delightful time with you and big sis on Friday - the Lord couldn't have given us a lovelier day and He certainly blessed our time together.
Love you!
Beautiful thoughts on mothers and Mother's Day, Debbie!
I LOVE my parcel so very much! SO MUCH!
I'm so sorry that my package to you is taking so long. You'd think this granny could get her errands run, but somehow I can't hurry!
I'm so sorry if you've been inconvenienced! (BIG HUG!)
Debbie, beautiful thoughts on mothers and grandmothers. I feel the influence of my mother and grandmothers to this day, though they died many years ago. And their influence carries over into my blog where I share the food traditions I carry on in their memory. Love the photo of you with your two lovely daughters.
