~ A Look Into Proverbs ~
"For the lord giveth wisdom:
out of his mouth cometh
knowledge and understanding."
(Proverbs 2:6)
~~~***~~~
Proverbs contains the very wisdom of God
given to show us the value
of living prudently ~ or to be cautious.
"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart,
and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him,
and he shall direct thy paths."
(Proverbs 3:5-6)
~~~***~~~
These two verses are among the most
beloved in the Bible.
I know for myself these were verses I
memorized and hid in my heart
very early in my faith.
One of the first Bible verse magnets
I ever purchased said
"Trust in the Lord"
I didn't know at the time, being a new believer and all,
that there was more to these two verses.
I soon learned the whole of those verses
and have cherished them for 32 years now
as a believer in Christ.
~~~***~~~
Shortly after I purchased and hung
that magnet on my fridge
the Lord used it in a mighty way.
My husband and I, with our two daughters
were in the process of moving to Canada,
and for me ~ that was huge!
Stephanie, our youngest was about two months old,
and Dawn our oldest was just finishing kindergarten.
My mother was beside herself
with us moving such a distance
and making it hard to see the children grow up.
As a NEW believer, I too had some concerns.
I trusted my husband with his leading,
yet ~ there were times I felt so uncertain.
My heart-strings were pulled in many directions.
But it was that simple magnet
that I looked at daily on the fridge
"Trust in the Lord"
that saw me through.
~~~***~~~
I can remember going into the kitchen
on numerous occasions
to read those comforting words
"Trust in the Lord"
just to get through those long dreary days
filled with many a tear I might add,
as I packed up our home
preparing for the move.
In order for God to direct one's path,
a person must be doing whatever
he or she already knows to be right.
I knew that I was to trust my husband
as the head of our home,
even though my heart longed to stay close to my family.
I needed to do right in order for God to direct.
~
Psalm 37: 5 is also a comforting verse.
"Commit thy way unto the Lord;
trust also in him,
and he shall bring it to pass."
~
Obedience activates God's promises.
To depend on our own understanding
of truth and life means to disregard God's will.
God's Word tells us to trust in the Lord,
to lay ourselves completely on Him
for full support. We are not to lean
for support on our own understanding.
In all our ways we are to know God intimately,
and He will take the path of our life.
~
As a new believer and making such
a drastic move in my life,
I was able to go down the path
where God was leading
claiming those four promising words,
Trust in the Lord.
~~~***~~~
If we will know God in every area of our life,
He will take personal responsibility
to make our way smooth and straight.
The paths we are taking sometimes
seem so hard don't they?
The road is rough and bumpy, filled with potholes
and obstacles, sharp curves and sometimes
it would appear we have hit a dead end,
or maybe, a road block.
Lord teach us to trust You wholeheartedly
no matter what the path before us may look like.
~
May we as women, grace our lives
in the purity found in the Word of God.
~~~***~~~
Our Precious Heavenly Father.
What a comfort we have in the promises
found in Your word.
May we look to You for our guidance
and direction
trusting You to take the path of our life, and
leaning completely on Your understanding.
To You be all glory!
Amen
Grace and Peace be yours
in Abundance!

Debbie, you have no idea how perfect your message was for me this morning. Even as I was reading this, I still had tears in my eyes. Let me explain...my daughter is planning to move...to Prague, which is in Europe. She wants to teach English as a second language over there. She is young and has nothing tying her down. I am happy for her and very proud of her, but I have been having a difficult time coming to terms with her leaving and being so far away from me...thus the tears in my eyes. My husband is having an even harder time with it. Your message was so needed this morning. I love how God works. I do trust Him, otherwise I could never give her my blessing to go. I just pray that she, like you, someday wants to come back home. Thank you my friend. Have a blessed Lord's Day!
Hugs, Vicky
You have blessed me with your post Debbie, it is just what I am learning of God to do. Our journey of faith is a process of learning and sometimes learning it over again. May God continue to bless you and us through your blog.
Hugs,Sylvia
What a wonderful message here today, Debbie. I, too, remember that sometimes ALL we have to do is TRUST and believe that all will be as it is supposed to be.
That must have been hard to move to Canada when your kids were little like that. I am sure your Mom shed her share of tears, too. xo Diana
What precious words for me this morning. Many trials in life I don't understand and cannot see the way through, but when we trust in God we have a Lord who knows the way through the wilderness and all we have to do is follow. Thanks. Hugs.
A lovely post. Remembering you and your family in my prayers. God bless your Sunday. Mildred
It brings sweet peace and comfort knowing that when we trust in Him, he directs our path and no matter the obstacles along the way, He is in control.
Wishing you a blessed Sabbath!
I too am facing another huge trial and these four words are such a balm for the soul. So simple if we could just keep them on our mind all day!
What a lovely testimony. Such a deeply meaningful reminder, to Trust in the Lord!
Oh, Debbie, I agree with another woman above...what a precious testimony! Yes, we are to trust in God through it all. And what a blessing to have (as a young believer) trust in your husband because you trusted in God. Proverbs 3:5-6 have been my "life verse." As a young girl, my grandmother told me about picking a life verse, and this was it. And it remains very precious to among...now among many more that are so dear to me as life progresses. Thank you for sharing and encouraging us to continue to trust in Him..and Him alone...through the hard times and easy ones! Hugs, precious friend!
Lovely.
Simply lovely.
Have a cozy evening. : )
Another lovely post to begin the week. Thank you.
Diana
Wow... what a post, mom! Don't you love how God uses what we have been through to bless and encourage others? I was reading Vicky's comment and was in awe of the perfect timing of your post :)
This was truy beautiful and greatly encouraging...one of my favorites from you! Oh wait, I say that about every post you write :)
Thanks for letting the Lord use you - you have touched many hearts including mine. Love yoU!
I enjoyed this post so much. Thank you for sharing your story.
Blessings... :)
Debbie....when you fully surrender to Our Lord, completely, without any obstacles, there is a wonder that is just too hard to miss.
When we say, I'll trust You Lord, with everything in my life...then He moves in such a mighty way.
Thank you so much for sharing Debbie.

Dear Debbie,
Your post is so encouraging and uplifting and a great testimony. I also love the music you have chosen, and the image is gorgeous. Thank you so much for sharing.
Amen to this message, Debbie. Like others who have commented, I too needed this message right now. This verse is a beautiful one. My Sunday School teacher gave me a Bible with this verse inscribed therein. It has been my guiding verse in life though from time to time, I've neglected to really let it soak in.
Your new blog background is beautiful as are the photos you've used to illustrate your post today.
Have a lovely week ahead.
Hi Debbie, It seems too long since I've visited your beautiful blog! You shared one of my favourite verses from Proverbs and your experiences and insight were very encouraging. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and heart.
I'm so glad you trusted God and moved to Canada and were able to enjoy time in my country. I know those who crossed your path while you lived here were truly blessed to know you.
Have a wonderful week! Hugs!
Debbie thank you so much for this beautiful post! What an encouragement it is to me right this very minute!! I hope you are having a great day (:
What wonderful words of wisdom you've shared from the bible, Debbie. I had that same move, only from Ohio, then to Michigan and onto Texas. Yes, we must trust in the Lord, for He is All-knowing. Loving hugs are sent to you!
Dear Debbie, what a beautiful and touching post. Proverbs 3:5-6 has always been my favorite verse since I was young. I have leaned on these words many many times in my life and thankful they are written in my heart.
We have moved may times from Michigan to Texas to Indiana, Ohio and back to Texas. I am an only child and I can only imagine how heart breaking this was for my parents yet, they never said a word and let us go for our future. Dad said, you can always come back home and we will be here always for you. Oh how I miss them but thankful for the trust they had in Jesus that I observed growing up and the trust I carried as a Christian. I would not trade this walk for anything in the world.
Thank you for sharing your heart, your wisdom and this moving post. You are a blessing.
Love to you my friend.
Hugs, CM
That is a precious promise in God's word, so many times I have read it, and prayed to be able to trust when the road was/is bumpy. I liked how you pointed out that we must be doing what is right for the Lord to direct our path. You were doing that, trusting your husband.
Thank you for the encouragement.
Dearest Debbie...this was so beautiful and encouraging - thank you!
I believe I will enjoy visiting your blog, too - it is very pretty and filled with the love of the Lord!
Thank you for your very kind comment on my blog - your words brought joy to my heart!
Praying your week is lovely and blessed!
Love,
Kelly-Anne
What a beautiful post, thank you for sharing it. Have a wonderful day, Heather
Dear Debbie- It is wonderful to visit your beautiful blog. I read some of your previous posts. The one regarding your father being in the hospital spoke to my heart. I certainly understand because I too am having the same parental concerns. God is so good and I know it was meant for me to meet you and to read what you shared. Thank you- many hugs!
Hello, Thank you...
God is always reassuring us with a timely word! I will share this that we must learn to allow the Lord to move others where He is calling them to!I have been guilty of trying to talk someone out of a very far destination from me many years ago! I regretted it for a long time.
The Spirit leads, not our reasoning!
So sorry I did not get to see you!
Next time....
Hugs and much love, Roxy
Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful and encouraging post with Roses of Inspiration. It's truly a blessing to have you link up.
Love you!
Great reminder in our DAILY lives to trust our Lord...thank you ♡
Oh I well remember making a big move with similar concerns from my parents. They hated to see the grandchildren go. At that time, a friend gave me a magnet that said, "God's Love Shines Everywhere." I wasn't sure that it did in Arizona. ; > That magnet did a lot to boost my spirits at that time.
Thank you for stopping by today and leaving a comment so I could follow you home. Lovely to have you!
Such wisdom found in Proverbs and in your words here today as well. Thank you for this beautiful series.
Debbie, this was beautiful and encouraging to read. I can relate so much to these words. My husband also moved us away from my family and my heart just broke in two. Proverbs 3:5 was also such a blessing to me during that time of separation!!! And I can't lie, "Remember Lot's Wife" was also on my mind! Thank you for sharing this.
