Peaceful Sunset ~

 ~ Peace is seeing a sunset and knowing Who to thank ~

While my husband and I were in Canada back in June
we did as we always do and went down to the beach
to watch the sunset.
This particular evening we had gone out for a delicious fish dinner
with family members on my husband's side,
then headed to the beach.
Southampton Ontario, which is on Lake Huron is known for their
majestic sunsets, many of them with gorgeous pink tones
and this one did not disappoint.
When we arrived it was looking as if it wasn't going to amount to much,
but wow!
I was headed back to the car thinking it can't get any better,
then I turned around and captured this photo of the family silhouetted
with my phone no less.
What a picture!

As the sun began to go down the colors came alive
and looked more vibrant with each snap shot.

The heavens declare the glory of God;
and the firmament showeth his handiwork.
{ Psalm 19:1 }

From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same
the Lord's name is to be praised.
{ Psalm 113:3 }

The day is thine, the night also is thine:
thou hast prepared the light and the sun.
{ Psalm 74:16 }

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet,
and a light unto my path.
{ Psalm 119:105 }

And the evening and the morning were the third day.
And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven
to divide the day from the night;

 and let them be for signs, and for seasons,
and for days and years.

 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven
to give light upon the earth:
and it was so.
{ Genesis 1:13 ~ 15 }

Glory to God in the Highest!

Joy!

Oh what beautiful sunsets! I find that I just love the sunsets here in Arizona too. I can't wait for the monsoons to start because the sunsets after a storm has passed are just magnificent!

That is so beautiful. Now you know there is a wonderful God. In this day and age when things are a mess it is nice to see a beautiful and peaceful place.

Dearest Debbie, oh how exquisitely you captured the Lord's immaculate handiwork! How my heart is singing just gazing upon your glorious captures of His creation and reading the blessed verses. Such an inspiring, amazing post as always♥ This added such joy to my day, as did feeling your joy through your words about this experience!

I am all the more inspired also to make it someday to visit Canada and the Great Lakes Region! Oh the hues of these skies are just indescribably beautiful, and you are such a talented photographer.

You, Stephanie, and your loved ones are so often in my prayers and close in thoughts... Hoping you are all doing wonderfully and continuing to enjoy summer. I thought of you all of the past week especially as I have been in CO for a little while visiting my Grandma :)

Love and blessings, Debbie!

I love lake Huron! We are planning on going to Port Huron MI for a day trip soon and we love to stop at the roadside lookouts and go down to the lake and just paddle in the water! It usually is pretty cold as the Great Lakes are never warm! The sunsets are beautiful, and only God can gift us with such amazing wonder! What beautiful magnificent photos you took, Debbie!

Beautiful.
Lake Superior is my favorite Great Lake. We are blessed to live not to far away from it. My husband lived next to Lake Superior for 4 years. We met while he lived in Houghton, Michigan. Many of our dates were walking the shores of Lake Superior.
Great photos!!

Simply gorgeous photos! The colors are stunning. We enjoyed many of these same sunsets on the Canadian side of Lake Huron when our children were growing up. We camped at a provincial park every summer, and always went down to the beach at sunset to catch these gorgeous views. Wonderful memories. xo

Wow! THAT is a stunning photo . . . frame worthy!! What a wonderful gift that would make for each family member! It's funny how I never tire of watching sunrises and sunsets when we are at our vacation spot in GA. Well, actually I enjoy them anywhere but it's nice to enjoy them without having power lines and buildings interfering! I have found, like you, that some of the most beautiful sunsets start out looking rather 'bland' and then BOOM! The colors deepen and it turns out to be amazing. It does make you wonder how ANYONE could doubt the existence of a miraculous Creator . . . that kind of beauty just cannot be random! I'm so glad you enjoyed your time in Canada!

Wow you did capture some beautiful pictures of the sunset, we are on the Lake Huron in Michigan so we only see sunrises from Lake Huron, which can be quite beautiful too. You can't help but feel close to God at the start and end of a day, nothing is quite so amazing and makes you thankful for all He does for us to give us an amazing start and end!

Debbie may I ask if your daughter Stephanie has closed her website "The Enchanting Rose?" I ask because it has not been updated since March this year.

Debbie Harris said...

No, Stephanie has not closed her blog, but she has certainly been busy with her spring and summer, and with her son. 😊
She hopes to post here again soon when the cooler weather arrives.
Thank you for checking in on her.

Oh my goodness, those photos! When I was working I took lots of early morning sunrise shots. Your photos are delightful. God is gracious and so very good.
Hannah's sweet friend ( I say he is a keeper) Jake in Buffalo bought a star in Alastor Avery's name, He had researched it and it sits above Sagitarrius in the constellations in the skies. It is visible only in July and August so we are hopeful we will view it later this month. Baby Alastor Avery was born on Dec 18.
God has such a plan for each life and I am looking at that while we mourn the tremendous loss of a little life gone so quickly.
Your prayers and kindnesses have been a joy to me.
HUGS and LOVE
