Puppy Love ♡

Hello precious friends!
I trust that you had a beautiful Valentine's Day ♡
I was sick all week, but I wasn't about to cancel a special tea party I had scheduled.
This Valentine's tea party was for my dear Stephenie and her little one,
but the Lord in His goodness made it possible for my dear husband's
schedule to change allowing him to join us.
Of all the tea parties I have hosted this was my husband's first and he loved it,
with the exception of the tea.
My husband is Canadian, yet he has never acquired the taste for tea.
It was while living in Canada and spending much time visiting with the elderly
that I came to enjoy a good cup of tea.
Visiting these elderly ladies was how I came to learn
of tea parties and fine china.
Isn't it wonderful the way the Lord brings others into our lives
so that we can learn many beautiful things?

I found these adorable dog dishes at Pier 1 Imports
and although I really didn't need them
I just knew my grandsons would enjoy them .
It is a perfect set, complete with four plates and four matching drinking glasses.
Each plate is decorated with a different dog picture and is so adorable!
When my oldest daughter's three boys come for their next visit
I will host a tea party for them as well.
I'm thankful my grandsons enjoy having tea with their Gamma.

I made heart ice cubes and served raspberry mint lemonade.

The color red was my prominent color in decorating ~

I usually decorate with soft colors and plenty of lace,

but for the boys I went with reds.
That's partly why I purchased this adorable set.
My grandsons enjoy the finer things that grace the table  at a tea party,
but a tea party is usually on the feminine side, wouldn't you agree?
Though these dishes are adorned with hearts,
they will get used a lot I'm quite sure.

We played Valentine's Bingo ~

I prepared sandwiches made more for the guys.

BLT rounds ~ roast beef  with horseradish sauce ~ heart shaped grilled cheese ~

Potato fans made with mini potatoes ~

Of course we had to eat our veggies!

They always taste better with ranch dip, don't you think?

Many dainty desserts to choose from.
Strawberry tarts ~ mincemeat tarts ~ maid of honor tarts ~
strawberry french cream pastry puffs ~
chocolate covered strawberries ~
and of course, cherry scones served with clotted cream and lemon curd.
What would a tea party be without a scone?
A dear friend gifted me with some dried cherries from Michigan
and oh are they ever delicious!

Gifts were shared around the table.
Stephenie gifted me with a beautiful lavender sachet that she made.
It found a special place rather quickly
and looks gorgeous hanging with many of my lace scarves.

This was the first use of Stephanie's tea cozy that I purchased
from her lovely etsy shop Rose Petal Blessings.
I LOVE the embellishments!
I was amazed at how warm my tea pot stayed
keeping the tea quite hot for a long time.

♡♡♡

It was a lovely Valentine's tea party!
What were some of your memory making moments
this Valentine's Day?
Thank you for stopping by, I always enjoy your visits.

♡♡♡

" Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God;
for it is pleasant; and praise is beautiful."
*Psalm 147:1*

Joy!

Good Morning! What a delightful tea party and perfect to share with your grandson and husband, along with Stephanie. I love the doggie plates! How nice to receive a sachet and tea cozy hand-made by Stephanie. We enjoyed visiting a new to us pizza eatery for Valentine's.
Have a nice week. xoxo

Good morning, sweet mother! Ah, just looking at your photos and reading your delightful words brought back the memories from Valentine's Day. You certainly know how to throw a tea party! Your decorations are always over-the-top-beautiful and your food....{{sigh}} It's always, always, always amazing! You have a gift for baking the most wonderful treats.

Thank you for inviting the little one and me over for tea and fellowship. Both of us had a splendid time and we appreciate the time, love, and care you pour into our lives.

Love and hugs to you!

Such a lovely setting, Debbie! You are one clever hostess and creative too. Everything is charming. I love the English Bulldog plate. Oh my! Your food looks tasty and I can't stop staring at those baked goodies. I like to include the men. When I started watching Downton Abbey a few years ago, I invited my husband into the living room and set up a table of tea and scones and cookies. He looks a bid odd at 6'4" sipping tea with me but he's game for everything and I cherish the memory even if he didn't continue with the series, that first evening was a blast.

Have a wonderful week,
Mary

Good Morning Debbie! What a lovely tea and your table is beautiful.
When my grandsons were young they didn't mind having Tea, I think they just wanted to eat! Now that they are teenagers, not so much.
Have a great day my friend!

You set a beautiful table and the dishes with the dogs on them are really cute. I thought the heart-shaped ice was a nice touch too. I'm looking forward to spring pastels and flowers blooming now.

What a delightful Valentine's Day tea party! Your table was just beautifully decorated and those doggie dishes were perfect...what a great find! All of your goodies that you served made my mouth water and I just ate my lunch!! These are certainly sweet memories that you are making, especially for these grandsons of yours, ones they will always remember. Nothing special for me this year really...hubby was working away from home for his 5-day stretch but that was OK...I was (and still am) getting my house back in order...flowers and a card had come the weekend before. I hope you are having an enjoyable Monday, my friend! Hugs! ♥

Hello Debbie, what a beautiful table you've set for your Valentine's Tea. How wonderful that your husband was able to join you and your daughter and grandsons. I'm so happy you learned to love tea by visiting the elderly. I'm sure they appreciated having you visit. I love tea (and coffee). The sandwiches and desserts you've created made my mouth water. Good thing I had lunch already though ;-) God bless you and heal you quickly. xx

And all of those different desserts to choose from. We always have a tea when our granddaughters come. Do you make your own clotted cream? Thank you so much for sharing your tea with us.

Debbie, What a beautiful Valentine's tea! I wanted to have a tea for my granddaughters, however, with their busy schedules, and my not feeling well myself, I did not manage to have one. However, I am planning a Spring tea for them perhaps after Easter. Your table looked wonderful and I loved, loved, loved, the plates! The menu looked yummy and I believe it was. Great idea on the veggies! What was the potato dish you made? Now that is something I never came across.
I hope you are feeling better. These nasty viruses take so long to rid our bodies of, don't you think? I have not been well for going on two weeks now. Our family of siblings are plagued with horrible sinus problems. I knew I was in trouble after I had vertigo last week. Oh well, you have to just endure until it passes.
You are an amazing example of caring and love, especially when it comes to your family. What a blessing you are to them!!

Dear Debbie,

Oh my! Such a beautiful loving menu you put on! All the sweet little desserts, tarts, heart shaped sandwiches, and even heart shaped ice cubes - you thought of everything! And the darling little plates for the boys, so fun! Such a special delight it is to bless your loved ones in such a sweet way! I'm sorry to hear you weren't feeling well, I do hope you are doing better now! And how sweet that your husband was able to be there too! Hugs to you today dear friend, praying the Lord blesses you in a special way :)

I'm sure all your guests LOVED the care you put to making this memorable Valentine's Day tea! What a beautiful table you prepared. The doggie plates & cups are adorable. Pier 1 had some great looking deer plates at Christmas that I was dying to buy, but I resisted. Tea was always the drink of choice with my British father. I think it kind of came as a surprise to me later in life that I realized my mom loved coffee just as much, but only made up the big coffee percolator when we came to visit ;)

What a lovely tea party! Wonderful that you thought of making it a little more guy-friendly with the doggy plates (so cute!), the red touches instead of pink, and the heartier sandwiches. The food looks so delicious!! I'm glad you were feeling well enough to host. And that your husband was able to be with you all.
What wonderful memories you are making, with so much love. xo Deborah

My Debbie, you went all out for your VD tea and to think you had guys to share it with! Everything looks delicious with super cute doggie plates to eat on. I think Pier 1 had dog dishes before Christmas too? Pretty sure that's where I bought our groomer a mug for a gift and filled it with chocolate.

Hi Debbie,
I am so glad I was not invited to your tea party:-)
It was absolutely beautiful, and I would not have been able to resist anything on that table. You are a wonderful cook and craft person.
I have been trying to keep myself on a diet but am not having much success.
My digital weighing scales broke and I have not bought another one, yet my clothes are telling me that I have put on far too much weight. Ha ha!

Hi Debbie, what a sweet tea party! You really entertain those you love beautifully. I need a tea party but the weekend I had hoped to have one is the same weekend our youngest graduates from college in Salina, Kansas. LOL! I guess I better show up there! I usually buy a Ky Derby hat each year and although it also falls ont he say he graduates I will save my hat for another occasion.
I am going back on your posts as I can. Busy week but have to visit some sweet blog friends.
Waiting patiently for Stephanie to send us our teacup/mug exchange info. I am so ready!
Blessings for a lovely weekend to you and yours.
Hugs, Anne
