Offering Our Praise with a Thankful Heart ~

" Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me:
and to him that ordereth his conversation aright
will I show the salvation of God."
(Psalm 50:23)

With Thanksgiving in the month of November (at least here in the U.S.)
our hearts are often turned towards giving thanks
for the many blessings that God bestows upon us;
daily we have the opportunity of honoring God with our sacrifice of thanksgiving
and offering up our praise for His glory.
We can purposefully look for reasons to be grateful
no matter what we may be facing in our every day lives.
God's Word tells us in Psalm 50, that when we offer up our praise to Him
 we are glorifying Him.

***

1 Thessalonians 5:16&18 also commands us to
"Rejoice evermore. In everything give thanks:
for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."
So often giving thanks may be the last thing we want to do.
We all face challenges that effect our lives~robbing us of our joy
and taking our focus away from God.
But if we look to the heavenly Father, and ask Him
to give us a thankful heart, He will.
Begin by offering praises to His Holy Name,
ponder on the ways He has helped you in the past
through difficult circumstances.
Rejoice in His character, His love for you, and the salvation
He freely gives.
Write down the blessings you can think of
which are yours in Christ Jesus.
Personalize God's promises found in the Word,
and ask the Spirit of God to show forth His Truth
as you seek to exalt Him throughout your day.

"O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise
to the rock of our salvation."
(Psalm 95:1)
As you sing unto the Lord and consider the many blessings
the Father has given you, you will certainly find
your heart to be full of thanks and praise~not only for what
God HAS done for you, but what He WILL do for you.
Set your heart to worship God, and honor Him
with your sacrifices of praise and thanksgiving.

Dear friends~let there be praise upon our lips as we joyfully go about our every day lives
acknowledging our Holy, Righteous and Great God,
giving thanks in all things with a grateful heart to the glory of God.
Have a glorious day!

**********

Heavenly Father~
With Your grace we offer up to You
our praise and thanksgiving.
Amen.

Be Grateful!
~ Debbie ~

Some wonderful suggestions to praise God here! Our pastor spoke on this yesterday - being thankful for what we have, even in the little things. Have a blessed day.

Dearest Debbie, what a precious reminder that we are to praise God in ALL things...whether we like them or not. Because God has a purpose for it all...and always uses it and us to bring about His will and to ultimately glorify Him...in and through it all. At this very difficult time, may we remember this in the days ahead and continue to keep our eyes on Him, the Author and Finisher of all. Looking toward Him today...love and hugs!

Debbie, you are so precious. You inspire me to be a better person. Thanksgiving does so much for us. As we lift Him us, we are lifted up into heavenly places. I've missed my time with the Lord in the mornings since I started working. I don't like hit or miss times with him but I can praise Him in all things. God is good and He doeth all things well. I know you are a praying woman so I ask you to remember me and family in decisions that we are making. Praising Him for His provision even when there is little.

Your post is a blessing to be sure! Love the sunflowers in the vases too, but mostly love the verses and your heart of gratitude. We, as a country, must humble ourselves and present our praises to Him-even if we don't like the outcome of the election tomorrow; we must trust His Sovereign Will.
Hugs,
Noreen

I needed this tonight, sweet friend, in light of the heaviness of my spirit. I pray until I have no more words to pray for our nation, and, yes, even though my heart is so heavily burdened, I am praising God for what He will do and trusting in Him for mercy. Thank you for sharing your heart!

This post was 'just for me'. I am feeling anxious about the election and the future of America and I asked the Lord, "How should I pray?" And He brought to mind Don Moen's song GIVE THANKS WITH A GRATEFUL HEART. Ps 34:1 Bless the Lord at all times

Oh Debbie...this is such a wonderful, encouraging post filled with truth! Praising God in every situation is always the best thing we can do although it can be very difficult...and the alternative does absolutely nothing for us OR those around us! Anything that is easy doesn't require a lot of faith. Unbelievers are watching us and how we react to unfavorable situations. That is where we become witnesses for Christ to others...and that it IS possible to handle adversity without falling apart! You have such a beautiful heart and your posts always bring such blessings to me...and others no doubt. Thank you, my friend. ♥♥♥
