A Day at the Zoo

A couple of weeks ago my three grandsons
~ my oldest daughters three boys ~
had the week off for Spring Break.
I had the joy and privilege  in joining up
with them and spending the day at the zoo.
It was a warm sunny day as we strolled
along the paths enjoying God's Creation
in the beauty of His Creatures.
~
"For every creature of God is good."
( 1 Timothy 4:4a)
~
My favorite of God's creatures is the penguin ~
I love Penguins!
But I didn't get to see them as they were
hiding in their little caves,
all I could see was the belly of one in hiding.
Maybe next time?

"Even every one that is called by my name;
for I have created him for my glory.
I have formed him; yea,
I have made him."
(Isaiah 43:7)
~ All creation was made by God
and we were created for His glory ~

My beautiful daughter ~ Dawn

"Lift up your eyes on high,
and behold who hath created these things."
( Isaiah 40:26)

" All things were made through Him,
and without Him nothing was made that was made."
(John 1:3)

Look at that precious face!

Yes, God made the snakes :)

If you look closely it looks like the fish is kissing my grandson

And the underwater life

And He made my precious grandsons :)
My handsome boy's!

"So God created man in His own image;
in the image of God He created him;
male and female He created them."
(Genesis 1:27)

~~~***~~~
God's purposeful creation of the heavens and the earth
extends also to those He created in His image.
Our lives have purpose and meaning
because we are the handiwork of the creator - God who
"fearfully and wonderfully"
created us and fashioned our days before
they came to pass. (Psalm 139:14-16)
Not only are we physically created in God's image
to represent Him on the earth (Genesis 1:26-27)
we are spiritually created in Christ
when we are born again (John 3:3-8)
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ,
he is a new creation; old things have passed away;
behold all things have become new.
(2 Corinthians 5:17)
I have a feeling some sand went home with these boys :)
"For of Him and through Him and to Him
                                      are all things, to whom be glory for-ever. Amen."
(Romans 11:36)
This Gamma had a delightful day!
Gamma loves you boys!
~~~***~~~

You O God, are the creator
 of the heavens and the earth.
Thank you for the life You have blessed us with,
and may we delight in You,
as You surround us with Your glory.
Amen.

Joy!
~ Debbie ~

I loved seeing this because I have enjoyed the same type of experience and it is priceless! Your grandsons are so handsome and look so happy and contented. I am so glad you mentioned the creation of animals as one of God's many gifts to us - ones that we must respect and care for humanely.
May our Risen Lord continue to bless your beautiful family!

You all look so lovely! And the boys are so big! I'm so glad you got to spend time with them and time to reflect on the creator.
I was reading in Exodus 34:6-7 where God describes himself to Moses. I never realized those verses before; God tells us who he is from his own mouth.

What great, great pictures. Our SweetCheeks LOVES penguins, too. When she asked the balloon lady to make her a penguin I about fell over-the woman did a fantastic job on it...I couldn't believe it.

Your family is just beautiful, Debbie. What fun to be able to spend the time with them. You got some great pictures.

Love the one of the fish "kissing" your grandson. xo Diana

Hello Debbie,
How lovely to see photos of your family and precious grandchildren! Our nearest zoo closed down years ago but it didn't end up that exciting a visit as it turned out we had most of the native wildlife on our own property and my children had already seen koalas, wallabies, monitor lizards and other reptiles. Yes, I have to remind myself often that God also made the snakes after more than my fair share of snake encounters over the years including several inside the house! Right now it seems we have a bird convention in the garden with the rainbow lorikeets producing lots of noise. They are not afraid of humans so you can get fairly close to watch them. I do love penguins too. We used to live near a penguin colony in New Zealand. Seeing them in the wild is something very special.

Beautiful post Debbie, thanks so much for sharing, it's funny I have just made a penguin card at the weekend for a great nephew who has just turned two,
God made them so cute, too!!!!
Will post it soon, God willing.

We actaully have them just down the road from the marine park, five mins away, once a seal got out and came to our house to say hi, crossed the creek and all!!!

... his snout made a wet mark on on our front windows as he said hi to my mum :)
Hugs, Shaz in Oz,x

I love to see childrens'reactions to God's creatures. The joy of their laughter, I pray, will never leave their minds. Even my high schoolers coo and woo when they see an image of a cute animal! We all never ever grow up inside. Bless you, Debbie! Anita
